When people think French fries, they usually think of a great, dripping, greasy plate of fried goodness from a local dive (or if you're lucky, some lightly fried taters with truffle salt from your favorite nice restaurant). Each bite is sublimely artery clogging, yet delicious, but there is a different way to get that delicious fried potato taste without raising your cholesterol.
Snikiddy is an all-natural, baked French Fry similar to chips. Made preservative, gluten and wheat free, they have 50% less fat than regular potato chips (and god knows how much less than your usual plate of sickeningly shiny spuds). They come in flavors such as Classic Ketchup, Bold Buffalo and, our personal favorite, Southwest Cheddar, that are sure to please all ages. They certainly please the Behind the Burner staff, who have been casually coming by my desk to grab handfuls as a snack!
Tip: Substitute your usual fries for these babies with your nightly burger and feel less guilty about enjoying the potatoey goodness!

My name is Kaitlin and I'm a full-on snack addict. As a youngster, I would sneak into the pantry for bags of chips and handfuls of Oreos. As I aged, I realized that my growing children's metabolism shut down to the point of non-existent and those cookies and snack cakes were heading straight to my, ahem, various body parts. I've searched high and low for a fabulous snackable that wouldn't turn me into a hippo and I found Doc Popcorn, freshly popped kernels of natural, unbelievably low fat flavors.
Doc Popcorn's ingredients are of the finest quality: natural cheese blends, organic cinnamon, Ghiradelli cocoa and organic vanilla. With flavors like Sinfully Cinnamon, Sweet Butter, Salt-n-Pepper and my favorite, Hoppin' Jalapeño, I'm never bored and constantly satisfied. My favorite part is the guilt-free snacking: one cup varies between 62 and 79 calories! Perfect for desk-side noshing.
Trick: If you want just a little crunch on your bowl of low cal fro-yo, sprinkle some Sinfully Cinnamon Doc Popcorn on top with a little low-cal chocolate syrup. It's hog heaven!

As a baker, I am well aware that finding a quality bowl for mixing can sometimes be a real challenge. Not the case with Fiesta Homer Laughlin Baking Bowl Set. Bright and sunny, these are great for not only mixing ingredients for cookies, but also for serving salads or sliced fruit. They come in many shades (my favorite being sunflower yellow) and are also stackable for easy storage. I like to use the bowls for various baking processes since so many recipes require various wet and dry steps.
Tip: Never use an electric mixer in these bowls! It will most likely lead to chipping, which is never a good thing, especially as chips harbor extra bacteria. As always, treat your baking equipment with care and it will last you a long while.
The best part about these bowls? They're oven, freezer and microwave proof. Perfect for making your favorite dips or casseroles that transfer from oven to the table without any prep!

The other evening at a large group dinner, my neighbor turned to me and announced, "I have to get a cupcake at Butter Lane after this. I just have to." Now, I like cupcakes as much as the next person but we had just polished off massive burgers and the thought of tucking a sugary confection into my stomach was, while appealing, simply not realistic. But there was a look of intensity in his eyes that at once frightened and intrigued me. "I don't care if I have to go alone." I told him he wouldn't.
Upon arrival, I immediately knew that I had made the right decision.
The aroma of sugar and butter hit us like a wall of sensory bliss when we stepped into the closet-sized bakery. The cupcakes are made to order and you choose your base or either chocolate, vanilla or banana (Yes, banana. Trust me: it's the best) and your frosting. A chalkboard lists a boggling array of frosting flavors. Tip: For those who are overwhelmed by the choices (like me), $1 "frosting shots" are available. Brilliant. I settled on a banana base with maple pecan frosting and a shot of coconut frosting. My base was perfectly moist with few stray crumbs. And the frosting? Oh the frosting. Butter and sugar have never been whipped into a richer, creamier dollop. That cupcake didn't stand a chance and was delightfully destroyed by the time I was back outside.
