The grocery store is stockpiled with cereal brands from Honey Nut Cherrios to Frosted Mini Wheats, Fruit Loops to Coco Puffs. All are mass marketed, sometimes terrible for you and overall expensive for no reason. Me & Goji, a create-your-own-cereal brand founded by Northwestern alums Alexander and Adam, stomps all of that to the ground.
The products from Me & Goji are natural, low in calories and high in nutritional value. The site is dedicated to getting a quality cereal out to their consumers and they definitely deliver. Behind the Burner decided to make its own mix, the "Behind the Burner-O's", that included some of the following: flax seed, cocoa almonds, dried bananas, multigrain O's, cranberries, cashews (for our marketing maven Alix, who cannot eat most nuts), goji and chia. These are not your childhood additives: these are adult, nutritious and delicious.
Tip: If you're not feeling too creative, you can pick from one of the many different recipes Adam and Alexander have created. Our favorite is "i <3 my <3"

As a baker, I am well aware that finding a quality bowl for mixing can sometimes be a real challenge. Not the case with Fiesta Homer Laughlin Baking Bowl Set. Bright and sunny, these are great for not only mixing ingredients for cookies, but also for serving salads or sliced fruit. They come in many shades (my favorite being sunflower yellow) and are also stackable for easy storage. I like to use the bowls for various baking processes since so many recipes require various wet and dry steps.
Tip: Never use an electric mixer in these bowls! It will most likely lead to chipping, which is never a good thing, especially as chips harbor extra bacteria. As always, treat your baking equipment with care and it will last you a long while.
The best part about these bowls? They're oven, freezer and microwave proof. Perfect for making your favorite dips or casseroles that transfer from oven to the table without any prep!

Ever had one of those moments of desperation where you realize you're all out of fabulous cupcake liners for your child's birthday or your granddaughter's engagement party? Look no further than Bella Cupcake Couture Wrappers, an elegant and debonair way to dress up even the ugliest of cupcakes.
Inspired by various textiles, the wrappers caress your cupcakes with warm, colorful patterns that bring smiles to guests as they unwrap each delicious bite. Tip: Bring the party inside for a night with some girlfriends and create a couple of Marlo Scott's signature Sweet Revenge "Pure" cupcakes. Mixing her signature Mohawk-patterned icing with a sweet polka dot wrapper will add that extra edge to your girl's night.

Here at Behind the Burner, berries are the first thing to go when someone puts them in the office fridge. Even tagging the containers with the owner's John Hancock does very little to discourage the berry fiends. When consuming, we usually add them to yogurt, granola, or even sneak them into the occasional peanut butter sandwich, but never in our lives did we think of putting them in a savory dish.
Driscoll's Berries changed all that with their recipe for an intriguing Raspberry Ham Frittata. Filled with ingredients you might normally find in an everyday egg-based dish, such as hash browns and cheddar cheese, this unassuming breakfast noshable boasts bright spots of pinkish-red where where raspberries add that little something extra. On first bight, the sharp, tart flavor of the berries adds just the right touch to the mellow eggs and salty ham. I know when I sampled it I was in hog heaven!
Tip: If cheddar isn't your thing, try replacing the the cheddar with a Baby Swiss or Provolone. It'll have that extra bite to mirror the tartness of the raspberries.
The moral of this story: things are not always what they seem! Experiment with your dishes and they may come out just as spectacular as Driscoll's Frittata.
