Drink of the Day: Grey Goose Frozen Cocktail Pops

Behind the Burner: Drink of the Day: Grey Goose Frozen Cocktail Pops

It's not every day that you get to take happy hour on the road, and what better way to do it than with some killer frozen treats courtesy of Grey Goose? These sweet, sour and tart temptations will delight your taste buds with just one lick. At Behind the Burner, we tend to like our cocktails on a stick, not stirred. Here's our favorite:

Grey Goose L'Orange Frozen Summer

4.5 oz Grey Goose L'Orange
1.5 ox Licor 43
24 oz orange juice (fresh squeezed would be delicious!)

Combine chilled ingredients in order listed. Stir vigorously with whisk for 8 seconds. Pour liquid into molds and place in freezer for 18-24 hours. Re-whisk before pouring.

Tip: Substitute your orange juice with orange seltzer or fanta for a fizzy, frozen happy hour.

These were originally created in a mold by Grey Goose, but if you do not have those molds you can use doubleshot glasses, ice cube trays, and more to create these cooled down cocktails. Nothing says the end of summer like a refreshing lick of your favorite Grey Goose concoction.

Drink of the Day: Conjure Cognac's Lova Lova

Behind the Burner: Drink of the Day: Conjure Cognac\'s Lova Lova

We're so over the whole Champagne and strawberries combo for Valentine's Day. Instead, we're stepping up our game with the Lova Lova, a drink that's invigorating enough to get us going for a night of romance.

Lova Lova

1 1/2 oz. Conjure Cognac
1 oz. mango puree
4 oz. ginger beer
Rose Champagne

Combine ingredients and pour into champagne flutes (be careful not to shake the ginger beer too much!) Top with a Champagne floater and let your tastebuds sing as you sip the night away with your sweetie.

Tip: Make this the center of your V-day temptations dinner. Serve small plates, like goat cheese with honey, figs (very sexy!), warm homemade breads and prosciutto. Olives are good for popping in mouths!

Dish of the Day: Pea Soup with Goat Cheese Crumbles from Meli Melo

Behind the Burner: Dish of the Day: Pea Soup with Goat Cheese Crumbles from Meli Melo

This week's cooler New York weather has had me thinking more and more about my favorite comfort foods. Soup is a number one contender (though against my mom's chocolate chip cookies, I'm not sure who wins!) and there's nothing I'd like more than to settle into my comfy couch with my cat and sip a few spoonfuls of warm goodness.

My copy-cat soup of choice? Meli Melo's Pea Soup with Goat Cheese Crumbles. It's quite easy in fact: three pounds of green peas are undercooked in two quarts of chicken broth. The end...sort of. The chef says in order to really thicken up the brew, add four diced potatoes. While I love my soup warm, this Pea Soup is best serve cold with numerous crumbles of goat cheese thrown on top for garnish.

I'm already excited about making this Pea Soup from Meli Melo this weekend; a really relaxed soup, healthy to boot, that uses my favorite cheese. What's not to love?

Product of the Day: Edge Brownie Pan

Behind the Burner: Product of the Day: Edge Brownie Pan

As a brownie lover, I've come across the acute pain of having uneven brownie pieces: some mushy and gooey, other's chewy and delicious. If you're an end person, check out the Baker's Edge Brownie Pan. Instead of undercooked middles, this pan makes sure that every piece has two chewy edges to compliment the softness of the perfectly cooked inards. The pan uses a zig-zag pattern wide enough for solitary brownie slices (though who can ever have just one?). If you're a gooey middle fan, forget it, this is not the pan for you, but if you're a perfectionist brownie lover, then jump on board.

The best part? No struggle to get those treats out of the pan and into your mouth. Each pan is non-stick, easy to clean and even comes with a miniature spatula. Trick: When making your brownies in this awesome pan, substitute the oil in the brownies with a half cup of almond butter. It leaves the treats moist, gooey and rich.

Why keep yourself on edge? Enjoy a delicious brownie without the struggle, courtesy of Baker's Edge Brownie Pan.
