Behind the Burner: The Black Derby

Makes 1 serving

INGREDIENTS:

2 oz. Irish whiskey
1 oz. grapefruit juice
1/2 oz. of honey syrup

PREPARATION:

1. Shake ingredients over ice.

2. Strain into a rocks glass.

To prepare honey syrup:
1. Mix equal parts honey and warm water.

2. Stir until honey is complete dissolved. Result is similar to simple syrup.

Note: Adapted from the Brown Derby cocktail, this version was first served by a mixologist at Milk & Honey in New York.
