Behind the Burner: Steamed Asparagus with Lemon Oil by Divya Gugnani

Makes 4 servings

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound thick asparagus, trimmed
2 tablespoons lemon oil
1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
salt and freshly ground pepper


PREPARATION:

1. Steam the asparagus in a steamer basket over medium high heat.

2. After the asparagus has steamed for about 3-4 minutes and looks bright green remove it from the steamer basket.

3. Place the asparagus in a serving dish and toss with the lemon oil and lemon zest.

4. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
