Behind the Burner: Evil Auntie's Roasted Aphrodisiac Chicken by Robin McCain

INGREDIENTS:

Aphrodisiac Rub (Measure equal parts of):
ground Nutmeg
Ginger powder
dried Basil
into a bowl. (about a tablespoon of each)

Moisten with a mixture of:
Olive Oil
White wine
Use enough liquid to make a paste that is easy to spread on the skin (too dry and it will fall off).


Roasted Chicken
whole chicken
Apples (numbers depend on size of chicken and apples -- enough to fully stuff the bird)
Meat thermometer

PREPARATION:

1. Core and cut apples into slices.

2. Place chicken in roasting pan with breast up.

3. Stuff chicken with the apple slices.

4. Optionally: sprinkle cinnamon on apples before stuffing.

5. Spread a thick coat of aphrodisiac rub on the skin of the chicken, especially on the breast.

6. Cook at 400° F (205° C ) until Breast > 160° F (70° C )

Although these herbs & spices are common in every kitchen, they have been known to be aphrodisiacs since ancient times. The aphrodisiac qualities vary widely depending on age of herbs, variety of apple selected and mental state of those who prepare and consume this dish! Evil Auntie urges lovers to experiment...
