Choco Chip Cheesecake Squares by Divya Gugnani
Makes 12 servings
INGREDIENTS:
Crust:
1 1/4 c. graham cracker crumbs
1/4 c. melted butter
1 tbsp. light brown sugar
Filling:
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 tbsp. non-fat milk
1/4 c. dark chocolate chips
PREPARATION:
1. Combine crumbs, butter and 1 tbsp. sugar in small bowl to make the crust. Press evenly into an 8"x8"x2" greased pan. Set aside and refrigerate for 1 hour.
2. With an electric mixer, combine 1/2 cup sugar, cream cheese, egg, milk, lemon juice and almond extract. Beat until smooth and creamy. Pour into prepared crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over batter.
3. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Cool, chill in refrigerator and cut into bars. Makes 12 bars.
