Snack of the Day: Jelly Belly Cocktail Classics

Behind the Burner: Snack of the Day: Jelly Belly Cocktail Classics

Mix and match your favorite cocktails with Jelly Belly's new Cocktail Classics. Munch on elegant flavors like Margarita or Peach Bellini, a drink minus the glass. But don't get your hopes up, there's no alcohol content, but I swear they taste like the real thing. With six different flavors, these "mocktails" look great layered in tall glasses (and lack the hangover).

Tip: Serve these jelly beans as tasty treats for your next cocktail party, or as a party favor after everyone's had enough drinks.

Drink of the Day: Watermelon Fizz at Haru

Behind the Burner: Drink of the Day: Watermelon Fizz at Haru

We hope everyone is celebrating this long weekend with sunny socializing, outdoor grilling and, of course, lots of refreshing cocktails. Our patriotic pick this year? The Watermelon Fizz, courtesy of Haru.

And since watermelon is one of the quintessential American barbecue must-haves, we love the idea of using to to make a fresh and fruity cocktail. Muddled with a hint of cilantro, Inocente Tequila and topped off with fresh lime juice and seltzer, this is a perfect crowd-pleasing summer drink you can mix up by the pitcher. Tip: Watermelon is naturally low in sugar, so this is a guilt-free cocktail you can feel good about drinking. Bottoms up!

Dessert of the 4th: Char No. 4's Butter Pecan Bourbon Ice Cream

Behind the Burner: Dessert of the 4th: Char No. 4\'s Butter Pecan Bourbon Ice Cream

Save the margaritas for Cinco De Mayo. Nothing says "America" more than a shot of straight up whiskey to celebrate Independence Day. Yet some of us, including myself, have a bit of trouble downing good old Mr. Jack or Jim Beam, despite any firework magic. Solution? Shots of pure sweetness.

Char No. 4 of Cobble Hill, Brooklyn may be known for its dizzying selection of bourbon and whiskey drinks, but I prefer to take mine on ice — ice cream that is. Their homemade vanilla ice cream embedded with warm butter pecans then topped with a shot of smooth bourbon is the perfect end any great meal. Sweet, smokey and spiked with Kentucky's best, this dessert has it all.

Tip: Soften any regular vanilla ice cream and drizzle some bourbon over on top to serve your guests for a different take on desserts for your 4th of July party.
