Dessert of the Day: Silver Moon Praline Irish Cream Ice Cream

Behind the Burner: Dessert of the Day: Silver Moon Praline Irish Cream Ice Cream

The summer has really taken a lot out of the Behind the Burner staff: shoots in the hot sun, running around taking pictures and setting up equipment, making dishes in a steaming kitchen, etc...we're in full need of a cocktail and a cold, frosty dessert. Silver Moon Desserts takes care of both needs with their line of liquor-infused sorbets and ice creams, such as Mango Mimosa and Coffee with Brownie Bits. My favorite is the Praline Irish Creme: melded together with sweet, chewy pits of pecan praline, the smooth ice cream has just a hint of Irish Creme and a whole lotta punch.

Tip: When you're really feeling decadent, take a little Irish Creme ice cream and caramel sauce and slather it over a no-pudge brownie. You'll be saving very few calories, but you'll be enjoying every bite.

And remember, ice cream lovers, unless you're 21 you cannot purchase these treats!

Mixer of the Day: RIPE's All Natural Cocktail Mixers

Behind the Burner: Mixer of the Day: RIPE\'s All Natural Cocktail Mixers

Cocktail mixers might as well be called cocktail calorie enhancers. But this can all change when you decide to be the mixologist— no degree necessary.

Pick up a RIPE Cocktail Mixer to get all-natural, and all-refreshing juices for only 60 calories per serving (unfortunately this does not include alcohol).

The margarita mix consists of freshly squeezed lime and orange juices, reverse osmosis filtered water and 100% organic agave nectar. And for those who like a healthy, yet early start, the Bloody Mary mix incorporates premium imported San Marzano tomatoes, fresh celery and lemon juices, certified balsamic vinegar, grated horseradish, Celtic sea salt and assorted spices.

Tip: This summer, be the "RIPE" of the party! Bring these mixers to your next barbecue to make some awesome margaritas and whiskey sours for a healthy, more natural take on everyone's favorite summer sippers.

Product of the Day: Fiesta Homer Laughlin Baking Bowl Set

Behind the Burner: Product of the Day: Fiesta Homer Laughlin Baking Bowl Set

As a baker, I am well aware that finding a quality bowl for mixing can sometimes be a real challenge. Not the case with Fiesta Homer Laughlin Baking Bowl Set. Bright and sunny, these are great for not only mixing ingredients for cookies, but also for serving salads or sliced fruit. They come in many shades (my favorite being sunflower yellow) and are also stackable for easy storage. I like to use the bowls for various baking processes since so many recipes require various wet and dry steps.

Tip: Never use an electric mixer in these bowls! It will most likely lead to chipping, which is never a good thing, especially as chips harbor extra bacteria. As always, treat your baking equipment with care and it will last you a long while.

The best part about these bowls? They're oven, freezer and microwave proof. Perfect for making your favorite dips or casseroles that transfer from oven to the table without any prep!
