On Tap This Week: Clean Water Worldwide

Behind the Burner: On Tap This Week: Clean Water Worldwide

Now that everyone has had their fill of Irish beer and whiskey from Wednesday night, most of us are probably thirsting for some plain old aqua. And the timing couldn't be better, since March 12-27 is World Water Week — a week where we can show our gratitude that we live in a country that has ready supplies of safe, drinkable tap water and help the 900 million people worldwide (half of which are children) who lack access to it.

You can make a difference and help bring clean water programs to underprivileged communities and schools all while enjoying a delicious meal at one of these participating restaurants nationwide. Tip: By donating $1 in exchange for the tap water you normally drink free of charge, you will be helping the UNICEF Tap Project improve access to safe water and sanitation facilities in schools and communities worldwide. Not dining out this week? You can still help by texting "TAP" to UNICEF (864233) to donate $5.
