New American Table: Eclectic and Appealing
Marcus Samuelsson is the epitome of the cultural diversity found in America. He was born in Ethiopia, adopted by Swedish parents and has traveled the world as a celebrated chef. Last week, he hosted an event to celebrate the launch of his new book, New American Table at HSBC Headquarters in NYC. Having received a copy of the book awhile ago and truly enjoying the inspiration of each dish (Marcus shares more than 300 recipes that attempt to define the unique blend of American cuisine), I was lucky to have the fabulous photos come to life in the form of passed appetizers at his party.
New American Table reflects his diverse food journey and our bountiful country. Ethnic cuisine has flourished in America and this book is a tribute to that beauty. This book celebrates the immigrant experience and the sharing of foods and traditions. No wonder New American Table is ranked #1 on Amazon in the International Cookbook category. Now I need to decide on the lucky recipient who will be receiving a hand-signed copy to for the holidays from me.
