Let Us Eat Local 2010: Celebrating the Sustainable in NYC

Behind the Burner: Let Us Eat Local 2010: Celebrating the Sustainable in NYC

If you’re a local foodie who supports sustainable, community-supported agriculture, then join us at this year’s Let Us Eat Local Tasting Benefit on September 16th. The event is being hosted by Just Food, an organization that connects local farms to urban neighborhoods with programs such as Community Supported Agriculture and Community Food Education.

This year, Just Food will also be honoring some of New York City’s most influential names in the local food movement. Honorees include Mark Bittman of the New York Times, community gardener and advocate Yonette Fleming, as well as New York state farmer and MacArthur Genius Fellow, Cheryl Rogowski.

And, of course, you can expect to see and sample some of New York’s finest local food offerings. Participating restaurants include Aureole, Craftbar, Dirt Candy, Gotham Bar & Grill, Gramercy Tavern, Jean Georges’ ABC Kitchen and Dovetail. Hungry yet? Purchase your ticket here, and get ready to celebrate NewYork’s best local food.
