Hunger Pains Healed by Peeled Snacks
If your lack of a snack has you darting for the danger zone (a.k.a. the Vending Machine), there is hope: a snazzy line of nutritious nibbles sure to apeel to your taste buds. Just like your best pals, they're a little bit sweet and a little bit nutty. You'll want to take them wherever you go. The best part of all: they'll stick by your side, but definitely not to your hips.
I'm talking about Peeled Snacks, the fiber-filled, nutrient-packed sacks of dried fruit and nuts that have Oprah, Rachael Ray and other celebrities raving—and craving more.
A partner to non-profit organizations such as the American Diabetes Association and the Art of Healthy Schools Foundation, Peeled Snacks have been featured as a noteworthy treat in magazines such as Diet & Nutrition, Fitness, Fit Fare, Today's Grocer, Cookie, Woman's Day, Family Circle, Cosmo Girl and others.
The reasons are unquestionable: they're totally satisfying and fun to eat, especially during the 3 p.m. tummy rumble, the dreaded delay in the car, on the train, on the plane, in the rain…you name it.
They're perfectly portioned, so it's OK to finish the whole bag if you need an energy supercharge.
With no added sugar, oil, artificial flavors or colors, these wheat-free, gluten-free and dairy-free munchies are ideal for kids and adults. Even trailblazing gastronomes will be hooked after the first nibble.
No sodium overload here! Each bag contains only fruit, nuts, and salt. With only 40-60 milligrams of sodium per fruit and nut serving and zero milligrams per each organic dried fruit pack, those with high cholesterol need not worry.
The nuts are sealed in a small, separate plastic bag inside the pack of fruit. You can eat them on their own or shake things up a bit by mixing nuts and fruit. Here are a few of my favorite flavor combos:
Bing Bing Cherry—Plump bing cherries, apples and peaches with walnuts and cashews. The peaches, though dried, are juicy and supple; the smell emits great memories of summer afternoons even on the bleakest, coldest days of winter.
FigSated—A slightly salty and crunchy blend of pistachios and almonds enhances the sweet flavor of the soft, chewy and sumptuous fruit: figs, apricots and dates that taste as though they have been dried slowly, at their peak of freshness. Yes, you'll be simultaneously sated and fixated.
Shock-olate—Niblets of 61% cacao dark chocolate, large dried pear halves, blissfully sweet apricot medallions, along with just the right amount of almonds and walnuts.
If you only fancy fruit, try the individual stay-fresh packs of organic apples, pineapples, mangoes, bananas, cherries or apricots, which were featured in the official Screen Actors Guild Awards Gala Gift Bag on January 25, 2009.
See for yourself what the rave and the crave are all about. You can only find Peeled Snacks in select stores, but with our special 10% discount, you can save by purchasing them directly from the Peeled Snacks Web site. Simply type "burner10" in the coupon slot!
